Devon is home to some wonderful pubs who have extensive menus and local ales, these are our suggestions but there are many more.

Elizabethan Inn

The Elizabethan Inn

Our most local pub 2 miles away. Great food and it is what you would expect to see at a traditional Devon Pub: roaring fires in winter and a beer garden in the summer. (Fore Street, Luton, TQ13 0BL, Tel: 01626 775425)

Cockhaven Arms

Offering a friendly atmosphere and locally sourced food as well as more exotic fare like bison and springbok. (Cockhaven Road, Bishopsteignton, TQ14 9RF. Tel: 01626 775252)

The Nobody Inn

One of our favourites with a staggering selection of 240 whiskies and hundreds of wines not to mention the best local ales. The pub has been in the good pub guide for all 25 years of publication. (Doddiscombleigh, Exeter, EX6 7PS. Tel: 01647 252394)

The Claycutter’s Arms

Not a gastropub, but a good place for a drink and a snack on the way from Dartmoor. (Chudleigh Knighton, Chudleigh, TQ13 0EY. Tel: 01626 853345)

The Rock Inn

For a superb evening we rate The Rock of the best in the land. The pub was established in 1750 and has received an AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence every year since 1996. (Haytor Vale, Dartmoor, TQ13 9XP. Tel: 01364 661242)

The Landsdowne

Also known as “The Lanny” has a big screen and is the best pub to watch the football on, regular live music, quizzes and darts and has 3 bars, a pool room and a sun-deck (8 Park Road, Dawlish EX7 9LQ Tel: 08714 329005)

The Mount Pleasant Inn

A popular lunch destination for people in the local area. (Mount Pleasant Road Dawlish Warren, Dawlish, EX7 0NA. Tel: 01626 863151)

The London Inn

Located in charming Shaldon is recommended by the Good Pub Guide (24 Bank Street, Shaldon TQ14 8AW. Tel: 01626 872453)
