A Touch of the Wild is based in Ashcombe and is a great place for children and families to learn about woodlands and nature. The camp is based in a secret location deep in Grammarcombe Woods. Whether you are on holiday with friends or family, for a week or longer they offer plenty of different ways for you to enjoy the woods and have fun.
With children, family and adult events ranging from Family Easter and Halloween specials to spoon carving courses, canoe and bush-craft trips along the River Dart and much more, their regular programme of events is sure to make for a great day out.
Private events – If you are a party of 8 or more people you can learn bush-craft and survival skills. Discover how to build a shelter that can withstand rain or light a fire without matches. A Touch of the Wild can run a bespoke event just for you and your group – whether you are a group of friends or family and whatever your ages. Contact them on firstname.lastname@example.org with the dates of your visit, number of people and requirements.
Woodland Adventure Club – If you would like to keep your children occupied for a day (or more) during your stay, the exciting Holiday Club for 5 years and over runs during the school holidays (except Christmas and February half term). Your children and A Touch of the Wild expert staff will discover new things in nature – camp fire cooking, toasting marshmallows, whittling, bug hunting, making new friends and learning cool woodland skills. Giving you the chance to spend the day sightseeing and making the most of your Devon holiday. Be warned though – they might want to come back every day!
